Christina Hendricks Is Very Appreciative Of Things

You see Christina Hendricks' wrist? Nice, right? It wasn't for long. Why? Oh, that's because she lost a 124-carat diamond bracelet worth $850,000 that Chopard let her wear to the Golden Globes. No big deal. NY Post reports: The voluptuous redhead was horrified to find out that after making it up the carpet Sunday at the Beverly Hilton, one of the two bracelets loaned by Chopard had slipped off. Inside the ballroom moments before the show started, the panicked actress asked us, "Have you seen a diamond bracelet? I've lost one that looks like this," pointing at the one glittering bracelet left on her wrist. As the stars were being urged to take their seats, Hendricks -- wearing a figure-hugging red gown -- then hurried out of the auditorium back onto the red carpet to look for the bauble. But security blocked her as she tried to leave the auditorium, as no one is allowed in or out once the show starts. She begged, "Please let me out, I have to give my diamond bracelet to my publicist!" The guard watched wide-eyed as Hendricks pulled the bracelet out from her ample cleavage. He opened the door a crack and she passed the jewels through to her publicist outside.

Where The Bright Lights Of Vegas Go To Die

The stack of giant neon letters just beyond the gates of the Neon Boneyard in Las Vegas are unlit. Flecks of turquoise, ruby and jade paint chips dot the gravel field. There are rusted metal beams, twisted tubes, cracked light bulbs and 40-feet-tall skeletons plucked from the rubble of imploded casinos. Miles from the blinking marquees of the Las Vegas Strip, this is where neon signs go to die. In a city that hums of impulse and overstimulation, where investors flock to what's hot and new and visitors empty their wallets at the promise of instant entertainment, the three-acre lot that displays relics from classic Las Vegas buildings offers a rare opportunity for retrospection.

Minka Kelly Unleashes The Sexy In February GQ

Though a part of men’s heart’s die every night knowing that Minka Kelly will soon be off the market (thanks a lot Derek Jeter), they can at least find some comfort in her incredibly sexy shots from the latest issue of GQ. Though in her interview she promises readers that she’s not getting married next month, she didn’t anything about the rest of the year. For shame, for shame, hotness of this magnitude shouldn’t be hogged by one man, should it? I think not. But until Derek Jeter relents and embraces the idea of an open — waayyy open — union with the lovely Minka, I guess dudes will just have to settle for ogling her sexy from afar, starting below.

The Tunnel People Of Las Vegas

Deep beneath Vegas’s glittering lights lies a sinister labyrinth inhabited by poisonous spiders and a man nicknamed The Troll who wields an iron bar. But astonishingly, the 200 miles of flood tunnels are also home to 1,000 people who eke out a living in the strip’s dark underbelly. Some, like Steven and his girlfriend Kathryn, have furnished their home with considerable care - their 400sq ft 'bungalow' boasts a double bed, a wardrobe and even a bookshelf. They have been there for five years, fashioning a shower out of a water cooler, hanging paintings on the walls and collating a library from abandoned books. Their possessions, however, are carefully placed in plastic crates to stop them getting soaked by the noxious water pooling on the floor. 'Our bed came from a skip oustide an apartment complex,' Steven explains. 'It's mainly stuff people dump that we pick up. One man's junk is another man's gold. ‘We get the stuff late at night so people don't see us because it's kind of embarrassing.’

Nissan’s New EV Tech Goes Beyond Batteries

By showing off a new EV meant for sharing, and previewing the in-car technology to be used in the Leaf, Nissan proved that the most interesting technologies introduced on electric cars could have nothing to do with DC motors and lithium-ion batteries. The New Mobility Concept (above), which appears to be loosely based on the Renault Twizy, envisions a future where cars are shared and their roles are repurposed throughout the day. Nissan says the New Mobility Concept can be part of a “seamless mobility service” that connects the car with public transportation using a smartphone app. Though details are scarce, we envision armies of tiny shared EVs at central train and subway stations that get commuters to their final destination.

Jaguar C-X75 Concept: An Electric Jet XJ220 From The Future

For its 75th anniversary, Jaguar's unveiling the C-X75 Concept, an extended-range electric coupe showing off a new design direction for the leaping-kitty brand, along with a electric/gas turbine power source generating 780 hp. Your 21st century British supercar awaits. Designed with the intent to move Jaguar's styling into something new and evolved, the C-X75 revives the promise of the XJ220 two-seat supercar from the 1990s; one vehicle that carriers every engineering resource Jaguar can muster. The C-X75's design mixes a number of cues from Jaguar's modern lineup, but in shape and proportion resembles the 1966 XJ13 Le Mans prototype, a car Jaguar chief designer Ian Callum tags as "possibly the most beautiful Jaguar ever made."

NASA's Next Mars Rover Rolls Over Ramps

The rover Curiosity, which NASA's Mars Science Laboratory mission will place on Mars in August 2012, has been rolling over ramps in a clean room at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory to test its mobility system. Curiosity uses the same type of six-wheel, rocker-bogie suspension system as previous Mars rovers, for handling uneven terrain during drives. Its wheels are half a meter (20 inches) in diameter, twice the height of the wheels on the Spirit and Opportunity rovers currently on Mars. Launch of the Mars Science Laboratory is scheduled for 2011 during the period from Nov. 25 to Dec. 18. The mission is designed to operate Curiosity on Mars for a full Martian year, which equals about two Earth years.
