Irina Shayk Takes Her Hotness To Las Vegas

I’ve been posting a sh#tload of Irina Shayk pictures over the last few days and I was getting a little worried that I would get desensitized to her hotness… I’m not. The girl is just too f@#king gorgeous, I don’t know how anyone could possibly get sick of this. Can you imagine that there’s some douche out there who decided her didn’t want to bang this chick anymore and dumped her? That sh#t just boggles my mind. Sure her think Russian accent would be a little hard to get used to, but you f@#king suck it up and deal with it when a chick is this hot. Anyhow, here she is in Las Vegas looking as amazing as ever

Historic Defense Tower Transformed Into Modern Home

This ancient defense tower in Suffolk, England has been transformed from a historic marker of a war-faring age into a remarkable one-of-a-kind home. The home’s designer and owner Duncan Jackson worked closely with Piercy Conner Architects to create a comfortable, contemporary living space that maintains the aesthetic integrity of the historically-registered defense tower. The project solved a set of thorny issues (a round building with few windows and 12 foot-thick walls) while creating a truly gracious home in the wetlands that preserves a unique piece of history. The resulting residence looks like it would be right at home on the Star Wars planet Tatooine.

Brooklyn Decker SI Swimsuit Edition

Which she may not have made the cover of Sports Illustrated’s 2011 Swimsuit Edition which was reserved for Russian supermodel Irina Shayk, Brooklyn Decker deserves a very, very honorable mention (yea, I guess gracing the cover two years in a row can’t be expected). So naturally we scraped around and compiled what we’re calling Banned’s Great Gallery: Brooklyn Decker SI Swimsuit Edition. As always, hold down the control key (apple/command on mac) and click the thumbnails below to open each image in a new tab (we’re working on a new gallery system that won’t totally suck, but until then bear with us).

Incredible Images of Human Scar Tissue Seen at a Cellular Level

For many years, the application of pathology has been used to diagnose diseases in humans and animals. Human pathology, as one of the primary focal points in medicine, is synonymous with diseases. Withdrawing tissue or some blood and studying these samples for hours is quite bothersome. But pathologists are working hard day and night to identify deadly diseases. For example, the above image of thick, puckered scar tissue may look very beautiful through the microscope, but in fact this itchy cluster of scars grows beyond the edges of a wound or incision. Let us visit a gorgeous and never-before-seen gallery of gross, stained human body samples as seen through the microscope in a pathology lab.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell Concept

Mercedes-AMG is accepting the challenges of motoring of the future: the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell is evidence of the state-of-the-art development of an exciting super sports car featuring a zero-emission high-tech drive. Boasting a power output of 392 kW and 880 Nm of torque, the technology vehicle from AMG is able to offer exceptional performance. The gullwing with electric drive is part of the company strategy entitled "AMG Performance 2015" which aims to continually reduce fuel consumption and emissions. With the SLS AMG E-Cell, Mercedes-AMG is providing a glimpse of its latest development project - a powerful and locally emission-free super sports car. Finished in fluorescent "AMG lumilectric magno" paint, the gullwing offers the prospect of a possible small series production run and at the same time reflects the innovative strength and development competence of the AMG performance brand.

The $200 Microhouse

A HOUSE tour is the highlight of a visit with a proud homeowner, but when one drops in to see Derek Diedricksen, who makes playful micro-shelters out of junk, it is less so. Possibly because the temperature up here on a cold winter day is less so, possibly because his square footage is less so. At about 24 square feet, the Gypsy Junker, made primarily out of shipping pallets, castoff storm windows and a neighbor’s discarded kitchen cabinets, is the largest of Mr. Diedricksen’s backyard structures. The Hickshaw, a sleeper built on a rolling cedar lounge chair (or as Mr. Diedricksen calls it, “a rickshaw for hicks”), is considerably smaller, at 2 1/2 feet wide by 6 1/2 feet deep. The Boxy Lady, two cubes on a long pallet, is the smallest: 4 feet tall at its highest point.

How Apartment Dwellers Can Charge Their Electric Vehicles

Recently, we got an email from a reader named Bernadine asking about apartment dwellers charging their plug-in cars. She wrote: "I would like to see Autoblog contact, address, and consider how would apartment dwellers fit in the scheme of things by the manufacturers of "green" vehicles. I am quite sure there are others, like myself, who would love to purchase or get in line to order such vehicles. However, we do not have garages or nearby outlets that we can access to charge our vehicles, once purchased. Are there any projects in place that will address the needs of apartment dwellers? Will our local gas stations be transformed into electric stations?" Turns out, Bernadine isn't the only one thinking about this particular issue. We covered it in some depth about a year ago in this Greenlings article, which noted that, in 2009, Mitsubishi helped develop an electric vehicle charging system for apartment buildings in Japan. More recently, our friend Paul Scott and Santa Monica Nissan did a presentation very subject at a local library. The panelists included people with deep knowledge of EVSEs, permitting and other related issues. You can watch a well-edited video of that event provided by Plug In America after the jump.

World's Total CPU Power: One Human Brain

How much information can the world transmit, process, and store? Estimating this sort of thing can be a nightmare, but the task can provide valuable information on trends that are changing our computing and broadcast infrastructure. So a pair of researchers have taken the job upon themselves and tracked the changes in 60 different analog and digital technologies, from newsprint to cellular data, for a period of over 20 years. The trends they spot range from the expected—Internet access has pushed both analog and digital phones into a tiny niche—to the surprising, such as the fact that, in aggregate, gaming hardware has always had more computing power than the world's supercomputers.
