Mila Kunis To Play Wicked Witch Of The West

The hideous, gnarled Mila Kunis, stuff of nightmares, will star as the Wicked Witch of The West in Sam Raimi’s upcoming Oz, The Great And Powerful, according to Vulture—though technically Kunis will be playing the role of Theodorah, whose own transformation into the vindictive, monkey-loving firebug factors into an overall Oz back-story that also includes those of Evanorah, her sister and east-side counterpart, and Glinda, who reps the north. Vulture further reports that Kunis signing on was all that was needed to secure James Franco in the role of the Wizard, after Franco presumably considered the matter by taping a series of one-sided conversations with himself, then playing them all simultaneously at varied speeds while he watched silently from atop an unusually tall stool perched beneath a blue-gelled spotlight.

Shots of NYC Traffic at Night

Some call it The City that Never Sleeps – and that seems truer at 2 am, while stuck in a Midtown traffic jam. The Big Apple may be the greatest city in the world (aside from Philadelphia!) but road work in the middle of the night can make anyone miserable. That is unless you are stories above it, taking gorgeous photos of cars, pedestrians, and bicycles passing under you; millions of bodies travel like red blood cells through the arteries of Manhattan. No other art form captures this as well as photography.

Isla Fisher is One Hot Lady in Red

Isla Fisher has earned her spot on the MILF list in this hot little number. Tight and red. It suits Isla very, very well. She’s at the premiere of her new animated flick Rango with Johnny Depp. Whatever. This chick has two kids with Sacha Baron Cohen. TWO. Hell, you may be able to make the argument with her that motherhood does a body good. Isla may be starring in a kids’ flick right now, but I’ll always think of her as that crazy, super horny chick from Wedding Crashers. She’s had my heart ever since she jacked Vince Vaughn off at the dinner table in that movie.

Most Incredible Images of the Northern Lights

Every year, people are inspired to brave freezing temperatures while attempting to capture the Aurora Borealis. This natural phenomenon beats any man-made light show. Here are ten of the best Aurora Borealis photographs that were taken in 2010 and posted to Flickr under a Creative Commons license. No matter how many times we see stunning pictures of the aurora borealis, we are still amazed and entranced by its beauty.

Mazda MX-5 Miata Hits 900k... Next Stop, One Million

Mazda has announced that the automaker has turned out 900,000 units of its MX-5 Miata since the car first put tire to pavement in 1989. Of that astronomical number, a staggering 45 percent were sold here in North America, which means that 388,000 of the droptops have been shipped to our continent over the past 22 years. Mazda attributes the vehicle's success to its ability to adhere to what made the convertible a sales winner in the first place – offering basic sports car appeal with one of the highest fun-per-dollar ratios of any vehicle out there. Since 1989, the convertible has undergone two complete redesigns and a slew of minor updates along the way.

Orbital Garbage Scow Concept Would Keep Space Clean

There's a lot of crap up there in orbit. Like, seriously, a lot, and it's becoming a problem. This concept for a space debris collection and recycling ship from artist Vaughan Ling shows one potential way of taking care of all the junk. When two pieces of space junk come together they make lots of new little baby pieces of space junk, which might sound all cute and romantic, except that if one of them runs into your space station, it's gonna blow a good sized hole in it. At some point, there's going to be enough stuff flying around up there that a chain reaction of collisions could take place, creating so much debris that Earth orbit will end up unusable.

2011 Hyundai Veloster Rally Car

January’s 2011 Detroit Auto Show brought with it the production version of the long rumored Veloster, but Hyundai is using the Chicago Auto Show to display a rally version of the car. The Veloster Rally Car is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine mated to an Xtrac six-speed sequential transmission. Making giant leaps across the rally road will be made easy with the engine’s 500hp and all of that power comes with an estimated 40mpg. This particular version of the Veloster will make its rally debut at the 2011 U.S. Rallycross Championship Series.

Air Force Waffles on Nutty ICBMs vs. Terrorists Plan

An Intercontinental Ballistic Missile with conventional explosives in place of its usual nuclear warhead would allow the U.S. military to take out terrorist targets on the other side of the world in an hour or less. Too bad any ICBM launch — nuclear or non-nuclear — looks the same to other countries’ radars, meaning every strike on a terrorist camp risks sparking World War III. It’s for that reason that just this week the Air Force wisely shelved all discussion of its loopy “ICBMs vs. terrorists” scheme. Or maybe not. Or maybe so. Truth is, it’s no longer clear what the Air Force thinks about non-nuclear ballistic missiles.
