CELEBRITIES & MODELS PHOTOGRAPHY & EYE CANDY

Michelle Hunziker In A Bikini, As It Should Be

Remember my five part series awhile back on Michelle Hunziker and her fabulous bikini body? Well, as you will see today, she totally deserved it. How this woman has not landed some sort of contract to appear on American television or in movies is beyond me. Seriously… Michelle wouldn’t even have to talk. Just send her to beaches, have her do whatever it is she’s doing here, shoot video of it, and put it on the air. I guarantee it’d get better ratings than Major League Baseball.

25 Haunting Shipwrecks Around the World

Fellow blogger Tom Moran from Urban Ghosts inspired this post. His excellent article on ‘Ship Graveyards: Abandoned Ships, Boats and Shipyards‘ sent me on a quest to find some incredible photographs of shipwrecks around the world. The United Nations estimates that there are more than 3 million shipwrecks on the ocean floor. These once mighty vessels, both sunken and beached, are a haunting reminder that nothing lasts forever. These beautiful ships used to rule the seas they traveled. Now they serve as a window into our past.

Rosie Huntington-Whitely Looks Stunning In Burberry Dress

Rosie Huntington Whitely arrives at the UK Premiere of Transformers: Dark Of The Moon at BFI IMAX in London, England. She is absolutely stunning! This is one of my favorite dresses I’ve seen in a long, long time. The dress, by Burberry, is so flattering on her. She just looks gorgeous!

Juliana Santacruz Herrera: Decorative Potholes

artist juliana santacruz herrera has transformed the streets of paris through her visual intervention using braided strips of colourful fabric. seeing the many cracks and potholes of the city as the 'canvas' of her project, the site-specific pieces are a playful addition to the grey urban setting. long lengths of dyed fabrics are braided and then coiled into the shallow breaks in the street. often made up of a combination of bright colours, the resulting effect creates a graphic and visually-arresting contrast to the city's palette.

PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES TECHNOLOGY & OTHER NEAT STUFF

Jakusa Bossco Concept

If you’re torn between the looks of the 5th Generation Chevrolet Camaro and the new Ford Mustang, then you might want to take a look at this. The Jakusa Bossco was developed by Tamas Jakus – the same designer who came up with the Triango Revelation supercar which is currently under construction in Hungary. The Jakusa Bossco’s styling is unashamedly inspired by muscle cars like the Ford Mustang Boss 302. But rather than being overtly retro, the Bossco has a strong sense of futurism about it. You can almost imaging the Bossco concept sitting at the lights alongside one of the Land Rover City CABs from the film Judge Dredd.

Prisoners Help Build Patriot Missiles

This spring, the United Arab Emirates is expected to close a deal for $7 billion dollars’ worth of American arms. Nearly half of the cash will be spent on Patriot missiles, which cost as much as $5.9 million apiece. But what makes those eye-popping sums even more shocking is that some of the workers manufacturing parts for those Patriot missiles are prisoners, earning as little as 23 cents an hour. (Credit Justin Rohrlich with the catch.) The work is done by Unicor, previously known as Federal Prison Industries. It’s a government-owned corporation, established during the Depression, that employs about 20,000 inmates in 70 prisons to make everything from clothing to office furniture to solar panels to military electronics.

Porsche returns to Le Mans in 2014

After what will end up being a 16 year hiatus, Porsche will be making its long overdue return to the top class of the LeMans series in 2014. Starring in the grand return will be a works-run LMP1 sports prototype for which details are still limited - almost non-existent actually. However, regardless of whether it is a coupe or an open top model, the future LMP1 will more than likely feature new technologies from Porsche. Hartmut Kristen, Head of Porsche Motorsport said: "We’re looking forward to the task of developing new technologies and to continue on with the success of the Porsche RS Spyder. After the conclusion of our works-supported sports prototype programme in the American Le Mans Series we have kept up with the latest technological advances. Now we will begin with detailed research in order to evaluate the various concept alternatives for our new car. These obviously depend on how the regulations for the year 2014 look in detail. In principle, these regulations are interesting for us because the integration of our hybrid technology in the vehicle concept is one possible option."

Army deploying Individual Gunshot Detector

U.S. Army forces in Afghanistan will begin receiving the first of more than 13,000 gunshot detection systems for the individual dismounted Soldier later this month, service officials said. "We're really trying to ensure that every Soldier is protected," said Brig. Gen. Peter Fuller, Program Executive Officer Soldier. The Individual Gunshot Detector, or IGD - made by QinetiQ North America - consists of four small acoustic sensors worn by the individual Soldier and a small display screen attached to body armor that shows the distance and direction of incoming fire. The small sensor, about the size of a deck of cards, detects the supersonic sound waves generated by enemy gunfire and instantaneously alerts Soldiers to the location and distance toward the hostile fire, said Lt. Col. Chris Schneider, product manager for Soldier Maneuver Sensors.
