Ali Larter Lusters Warning: Butt Cheek FlashYou know what's wonderful? The return of Ali Larter to the flitting about town in little outfits game just in time for the hot days of summer. Bingo, bango, bongo -- butt cheek flash snapped by our telescopic snappers as the forever Varsity Blues whipped cream girl did a little more running and prancing and bending over around town in a short summer dress. It's like magic wrapped in sunshine contained inside a box of awesome. Ali Larter at a Cocktail EventAnd, just because we couldn't help but notice how hot Ali looked flashing her seat cushion during the day, we added some pictures of her from later in the evening at a cocktail party in Malibu where the blond MILF looked all kinds of simply hot and sexy in jeans and a low-cut top. Talk about climbing the ladder of the sextastic three rungs at a time. |
Birds of PreyBirds of prey, including hawks, falcons, owls and eagles, such as the bald eagle above, are also known as raptors because they use their claws instead of their beaks to capture prey. They are meat-eaters with keen eyesight, easily able to spot small prey as they soar through the sky. |
Gwen Stefani Was in a Bikini TooGwen Stefani spent yesterday on the beach in Malibu with her kids and husband Gavin Rossdale, and as always she managed to look sexy without being slutty, without wearing a thong or “accidentally” losing her top in the surf. In other words, I hate you Gwen Stefani. Booo, you suck, get outa here. |
Glass Beach of CaliforniaGlass Beach is a beach in MacKerricher State Park near Fort Bragg, California that is abundant in sea glass created from years of dumping garbage into an area of coastline near the northern part of the town. In the early 20th century, Fort Bragg residents threw their household garbage over the cliffs above what is now Glass Beach. They discarded glass, appliances, and even cars. The land was owned at that time by the Union Lumber Company, and locals referred to it as "The Dumps." Sometimes fires were lit to reduce the size of the trash pile. In 1967, the North Coast Water Quality Board and city leaders closed the area. Various cleanup programs were undertaken through the years to correct the damage. Over the next several decades the pounding waves cleansed the beach, wearing down the discarded glass into the small, smooth, colored trinkets that cover the beach today. |

KTM X-Bow StratosfericaThe KTM X-Bow is one of those minimalistic wonders of the automotive world, a true lesson in the whole ‘less is more’ mantra. Therefore it’s maybe not the most obvious vehicle to comprehensively alter by adding extra weight and bodywork which completely transforms the car’s persona. But if it looks as good as the X-Bow Stratosferica, and benefits from an extra 73 horsepower thanks to some engine modifications, then it’s all good in my book. The KTM X-Bow Stratosferica is a 12,000 Euro ($17,300 USD) upgrade to the X-Bow which is available through the Italian company Montenergy. As is obvious from the photos, and the name, the Stratosferica’s styling was inspired by the legendary Lancia Stratos. But at the same time this wasn’t designed to be a replica or newer version of the Stratos, and the X-Bow Stratosferica has plenty of its own unique character on show. |
Laser–Machine Gun Mashup Tested on Pirate ShipsNow we know what the Navy plans to do with its experimental hybrid of laser cannon and machine gun: zap pirate ships. Two defense giants, Boeing and BAE Systems, announced late last month that they would team up on a $2.8 million Navy contract for a prototype version of BAE’s Mk-38 25-mm machine gun with a little upgrade: a death ray. As the companies excitedly explained, the new gun would protect surface ships from pretty much everything, from enemy boats to small drones. What the companies weren’t letting on was that they had already tested the machine-laser-gun a month before the announcement. And in tests that BAE — hardly an uninterested party — claims were successful, the new Mk-38 took on its most likely adversary: pirate skiffs. |
Ford’s Cloud-Connected Evos Concept Is a StunnerFord has taken the wraps off the sleek new Evos concept, set to debut in mid-September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. It’s impressive enough to see such a sleek plug-in hybrid with gullwing doors, but what’s most ambitious is the cloud-connected technology that lies beneath. By connecting with drivers’ calendars and other online services, and also learning to recognize patterns, the Evos foreshadows a world where automotive driving dynamics and infotainment systems aren’t tailored to the average buyer, but to each individual’s needs and wants. “The possibilities are fascinating when we explore how to enable a seamless lifestyle between home, office and car linked by access to the driver’s personal information,” said Ford Chief Technical Officer Paul Mascarenas. “We’re researching how we can use patterns or preferences set by the driver to make life simpler. The car gets to know you and can act as a personal assistant to handle some of the usual routines of a daily commute.” |
Nexus S Takes To Space Aboard Atlantis, Does Astronauts Dirty WorkThe last time Google's jet-setting smartphone took to space, it wasn't exactly flying in style. Well, the Nexus S has ditched its styrofoam trappings for more respectable digs -- specifically, NASA's last manned space shuttle, Atlantis. Its mission: "explore how robots can help humans experiment and live in space more efficiently." Affixed to a series of three robotic satellites, known as SPHERES (Synchronized Position Hold, Engage, Reorient, Experimental Satellites) the phones engaged in tasks usually done by their human travel companions, like recording sensor data and capturing video. A special sensor-logging app was customized by NASA to capture sensor data and is now available for download in the Android Market. |
