AnnaLynne McCord Wears a Bikini and Rides a Bike at the Same TimeTalk about talent. I know I would never be able to wear a bikini and ride a bike at the same time, and that’s why I’m thoroughly impressed by 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord. She’s a light, yet heavy talent. I’m into the unusual, so I’m sold. I guess this is where I make the old joke, “If I die I want to be re-born as AnnaLynne McCord’s bicycle seat!” Boom! That one never gets old. |
NASA Images of Hurricanes from SpaceThe 2011 hurricane season has begun — a perfect opportunity to look at these amazing storms from a different perspective. NASA offers just the right viewpoint to study Irene (shown above) and a parade of other famous storms. The 2009 Atlantic hurricane season had been quiet — thanks largely to El Niño — until it lurched awake in August. Tropical storms Ana, Bill and Claudette all formed within five days of each other, and Bill became a deadly Category 4. After a few weeks of spitting out weak storms, however, the Atlantic remained mostly calm in '09 while typhoons plagued the Pacific. |
Lindsay Ellingson’s Sexy Bikini PicturesI don’t know who this Lindsay Ellingson hottie is, I’m going to assume that she’s a model or something, but I think I’ve just fallen in love with her. Here she is on the beach the other day looking awesome in her little white bikini. Well done lady. I wish that dude didn’t have his greasy paws all over my girl, but I’m willing to share if it will help me get a piece. I’ll take her every other weekend. Does that work? |
Portraits of Harley-Davidson RidersLast year, French photographer Sacha Goldberger had one incredibly busy summer. In addition to his popular Joggers series, Goldberger decided that he would take professional portraits of 80 Harley-Davidson riders from France. These Harley enthusiasts were not just captured face on, they were also shot with their backs to the camera. Why? Because their identities are often stitched onto the backs of their jackets. Ever since he was young, Goldberger had been a fan of the Harley brand and he's currently a Harley rider himself. Mostly with this series, he wants to show their passion, that behind that tough exterior is a kind person who sees riding a Harley, not just as a hobby, but as a way of life. |

Surf’s Up As Fisker Expands Its Plug-In KarmaFisker Automotive is filling a niche you probably didn’t know existed, rolling into the Frankfurt auto show with a range-extended electric… station wagon. The car, a shooting brake that appears to riff on the Ferrari FF, is essentially a wagon version of the Fisker Karma sedan. That’s a common move in the auto biz — the Cadillac CTS-V begat the awesome CTS-V Wagon, for example — and an easy way for Fisker Automotive to expand its appeal to new audiences. Company founder and lead designer Henrik Fisker says his goal was to create a practical and eco-friendly sports car, one that combines monstrous power with excellent utility. “I think over the years there have been many different concepts, and of course, most lately, Ferrari came out with the FF,” Fisker told Motor Trend before the car’s unveiling. “But I kind of wanted to take a different look at it in thinking: If you really want to make it useful, you really need four doors. So it is a shooting brake or sport wagon with five doors, really. The idea is you can drive a sporty-looking car that’s radically different, but you can also fit some luggage and some people into it.” |

Lamborghini Aventador Strips Down to its Rolling Chassis for Pebble BeachSitting in stark contrast to the heritage machines on display on the 18th fairway at the Pebble Beach Concours are the assembled exotics on the “Concept Lawn”. The best example of this is the Lamborghini Aventador, which is joined by a rolling chassis of the 700-hp Italian exotic, displaying the ultra-modern technology that makes it such an incredible performance machine. Car geeks can revel in the carbon fiber monocoque, joined at the front and rear by a complex and light weight aluminum chassis. This structure allows the car to weigh in at just under 3,500 lbs, despite a truly massive 6.5-liter V12 engine out back. Also on display is the pushrod suspension setup, with Lambroghini claiming the Aventador is the first production car to make use of this design, which has until now been reserved for race cars. |
The World's Most Expensive Model CarMost drivers wouldn't even be able to fit a toe inside what is mooted to be one of the most expensive cars at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show. The Lamborghini Aventador, which will be on display under tight security and in a bullet proof case, is a 1:8 replica model of the original but, at €3.5 million, is nearly 12 times more dear. It has already won the title of the world's most expensive and precious model car -- a title ratified by Guinness World Records. The car was crafted by German model maker Robert Gülpen -- who has also created miniatures of the Morgan Aero 8; Mercedes Benz 500 SL and Aston Martin DB5 from precious metals and gems. |
