CELEBRITIES & MODELS PHOTOGRAPHY & EYE CANDY

Gisele is a Menace

From the San Francisco Chronicle: "Gisele Bundchen, supermodel and wife of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, was stopped for speeding over the weekend and given a verbal warning by a Massachusetts state trooper. State police spokesman David Procopio says Bundchen was going about 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on state Route 6 in Barnstable when she was stopped Saturday. Procopio says two children were in the Cadillac SUV, properly fastened in car seats. The trooper reminded Bundchen that the speed limit on Route 6 is 55, and let her go on her way." Of course the cop let her go -- she's a world famous supermodel. She could have had body parts strewn around the inside of the car and this dude still would have just given her a warning.

Sunken Pedestrian Bridge in the Netherlands Parts Moat Waters Like Moses

No, your eyes are not deceiving you - the waters have indeed parted! This incredible “sunken” bridge located in the Netherlands is giving visitors a unique way to access a beautiful 17th Century Dutch fort. Designed by RO & AD Architects, the Moses Bridge literally parts the waters that surround the fort, allowing pedestrians to pass through. The bridge is made from sustainable Accsys Technologies Accoya wood, which is both FSC and PEFC certified.

Rihanna Hits The Beach In Her Bikini

Last night I wrote a post about Rihanna showing off her ass on stage during a tour of South America and I wished that there were some shots of her wearing one of those little Brazilian bikinis on the beach somewhere. I wished for it, I visualized it and here it is. Fine, she’s not wearing a tiny Brazilian bikini, but it’s close enough for me. The chick is hot and looks great lounging with her annoyingly large entourage. Now I need to write a post about how I’d like Rihanna to invite me to an all expenses paid trip to meet her on some South American beach somewhere.

Buzludzha Monument – Abandoned Relic of Bulgaria’s Communist Past

Buzludzha National Park in the beautiful Central Stara Planina, is situated right in the middle of Bulgaria at the heart of its rose growing area (one of the country’s main exports). Yet when one arrives at the Shipka Pass there awaits something quite unexpected. It is as if a huge flying saucer has chosen this spot in the Balkan Mountains for a leisurely pit stop and was then signposted, but abandoned by its owners. Yet this colossal concrete edifice (spelled variously Buzludja and Buzludža) has a history much more down to earth than that. It is what remains of an extravagantly expensive project by the leaders of the country’s old communist regime to tie up their own system of government with the mythos of the country’s 1300 year old foundation as an independent state. Forget your past? Hardly something the firecely proud people of this country might do - or so you might think.

Six door Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Limousine Stretched for Larger Families

Limousines are great. They make a grand statement at weddings and give the impression of one being a gentleman when one is picking up their date for the prom. However, there are some limousines that just take the “stretch” part of their job description a little too literally. Take, for example, this particular Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG Limousine that went a little too far on the stretch with the 6-door treatment. The offbeat creation is the handiwork of a UK-based tuner Vantage field International who thought the otherwise elegant S65 AMG would be the perfect vehicle for a mod that could seat larger families. Stretching their imagination, the brilliant minds at the firm not only added a few more doors on the Merc than it was originally manufactured with, but also threw in a few extra rows of seating.

Hennessey rolls out 800-hp twin-turbo Jeep Grand Cherokee

Eight-hundred horsepower. 0-60 in 3.1 seconds. $235,000. Given those numbers, you'd think we were talking about a supercar, right? Well we are, if by supercar you mean something with otherworldly performance capabilities. But this is no two-seat roadster. This is a Jeep. To be more specific, this is the latest Hennessey HPE800 Twin Turbo, a new rocket sled based on the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. That model usually packs a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 – which is already big by any measure – but Hennessey's bored it out to a nice round 7.0 liters and bolted a pair of turbochargers to it. Along with the substantial engine mods, the HPE800 also gets an upgraded transmission and torque converted (it is a conventional automatic, after all), plus 20-inch wheels on a lowered suspension with 15.1-inch Brembo brakes, and a reworked fascia with a carbon fiber splitter up front.

Looking For Privacy? Try This Home Built Atop A Cold-war Era Missile Silo

It might be the closest you can come to having a secret lair. A home in the Adirondacks is for sale – that from the outside looks like a traditional mountain retreat. But underneath is a cold war-era missile silo that would make Dr. Evil drool. “When I first went to look at the space, it was just a stairwell coming out of the ground,” said Bruce Francisco, whose business partner and cousin Gregory Gibbons bought the property in 1991. “I saw that the missile base here was in raw condition, and I thought we should do something amazing with it. I wanted to build a surface home as a covert entrance.” The above-ground home is 2,000 square feet. But if you use the keypad entry to the basement, you’ll find 2,300 more square feet that was a former launch control center and has been converted with dining and entertainment space and two bedroom suites – complete with marble bathrooms. With 10-foot tall ceilings, simulated daylight and an open floor plan, Francisco says you don’t even realize you’re underground until you come back to the surface again.
