CELEBRITIES & MODELS PHOTOGRAPHY & EYE CANDY

Afternoon Pick-me-up: MalinaLinn

Hooters doesn’t typically disappoint, and they certainly didn’t when they hired today’s afternoon pick-me-up MalinaLinn. This college student is studying performing arts and was interested in seeing how modeling panned out for her. Well by the looks of it, it seems to be going well. More photos of this hottie after the jump.

BMW Mini Cooper Assembly Line

The BMW Mini Cooper, whose first generation was designed by Frank Stephenson,[1] draws inspiration from the original Mini, which was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation and its successors from 1959 to 2000. The name of the car's brand, MINI, is all-capitalized to distinguish it from its predecessor.[2] Development of the first generation had been done between 1995 and 2001 by Rover Group in Gaydon, United Kingdom and BMW AG in Munich, Germany. During this development phase, there was continual contention between the two design groups, especially concerning the positioning of the car; Rover wanted an straight economy car, whilst BMW supported a small, sporting car. Ultimately, BMW prevailed, and in 1999, they assumed control over the entire project following the departure of BMW's CEO.

Anne Hathaway is Back in her Blue Bikini

No, you're not experiencing Deja Vu, and no, these are not old Anne Hathaway bikini pictures. Yes, we have seen Anne Hathaway in her blue bikini before, and yes, we've seen her on that yacht before, but these Anne Hathaway bikini pictures are new. I think. Of course, this just proves my theory that Anne Hathaway is indeed the Anti-Lindsay Lohan. Whereas Lindsay would wear seven different bikinis in one day just to get as much press exposure as possible, Anne Hathaway probably decided to wear the same old bikini, just to confuse news editors into thinking the pictures were old, and not running them. Well it didn't work, Anne. We posted them. Ha ha!

East Coast

The East Coast of the United States, also known as the "Eastern Seaboard", refers to the easternmost coastal states in the central and northern United States, which touch the Atlantic Ocean and stretch up to Canada. In a geographical sense, the term Eastern Seaboard is widely used; in popular usage, the term "East Coast" is most often used to specifically refer to the northern half of this region, which is also known as the Northeastern U.S. The southern half of this region is frequently considered to belong more strongly to the South or Southeast. Major metropolitan areas are based around the cities of Boston, Providence, New York City, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Washington, Richmond, Norfolk, Raleigh, Charlotte, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa and Miami. The population of this region, extending from Maine to Florida, is approximately 111,508,688.

MT pits Porsche Boxster Spyder against Tesla Roadster Sport

We've been fortunate to drive a number of different Tesla Roadsters over the years including, most recently, a keeping one long enough for a week-long review. Owners of high performance sports cars sometimes like to take their cars to the track for some of the kind of fun you can't really have when you are constantly on the lookout for hidden constables. One of the favorite cars for such activities is the Porsche Boxster. Motor Trend's Kim Reynolds and Art St. Antoine took the latest edition of the Boxster, the new Spyder, to Willow Springs recently, along with a Roadster Sport. It makes for very interesting comparison since the Boxster Spyder is the most minimalist version of the Porsche and the Tesla has a slightly more upscale interior than its Lotus Elise progenitor.

Anatomy of a $60 Video Game

Ever wonder where your hard-earned money goes after you've plunked $60 down on a game at GameStop or Target? Here's one answer. Much of the data came via a slide shown Thursday by Steve Perlman, founder of OnLive, an on-demand video game service based in Palo Alto. Perlman, who spoke during the Design Innovate Communicate Entertain Summit in Las Vegas, showed the slide as part of an update on his company's service, which is expected to launch later this year. Another way to look at it is to say publishers such as Activision and Electronic Arts receive $45 after retailers take a $15 cut. Publishers turn around and pay a $7 licensing fee to console manufacturers such as Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo. The cost of making, packaging and shipping game discs to stores carves up another $4. Finally, not all games sell, so the expense of returning unsold inventory eats up another $7.

This Hurts

As busy as things are with me, I just had to take time and post this. When I was still active in the BMW scene, I’ve met Paul who hit me up wanting to buy some of my old parts from my E36. He turned out to be a real cool guy and really have much passion for his E36. I caught him at one of the Cars and Coffee meet here in Irvine one time when he brought out his E36 rolling on a set of sick BBS RS. It was the first time I saw his ride in person with the new set of wheels. He still had vaders in there and had big plans for the engine. Then later on, he continued to work on the car and gave it a complete repaint. One of my favorite color for the E36 – British Racing Green which is a factory color for the limited GT edition. This car was epic in my eyes. I dig how Paul hooked it up and kept in clean. He thought of selling it once but decided to keep it. I don’t blame him and I totally can relate. But then this happened!

How To Avoid Speed Traps, Brushfires, And Friends With Your iPhone

Mobile app Trapster just rolled out its 4.0 release and added new features to help users log roadtrips, locate friends, better avoid tickets, and get around rockslides. Even the police are pitching in to aid (and slow) your commute. Trapster started out as a simple way to track where police speed traps so that users could avoid getting ticketed. With the addition of a mobile app for the three most popular smartphones on the market — iPhone, Blackberry, and Android — as well as added text-messaging capability, it allowed people to use their phones as radar detectors, alerting you if you approach a reported speed trap and letting you report new ones. The app has since blossomed into a customizable, data-rich resource. Most of this is because it's free and has a huge base of users.
