Looking Back: 1955 Studebaker E Series V-8
We stumbled across this classic 1955 Studebaker E Series V-8 half-ton pickup in Ann Arbor, Mich., on display at the Rolling Sculpture Car Show earlier this month. It's been meticulously restored by owner Ron Cripe. Studebaker's E Series trucks were inaugurated in 1955. There was the 2E in 1956, 3E in 1957-58 and so on until the 8E models marked the last Studebaker pickups that were sold in 1964. Styling was a mix of carried-over sheet metal from the 1949-53 2R Series and 1954 3R Series.

Maverick – A Parachute Powered Flying Car
It was just a while we come across many flying car concepts that run equally on ground as well as in air. However, Florida based I-TEC introduces a totally different approach than those futuristic contraptions with folding wings. This flying car is dubbed the Maverick and uses powered parachute called a ram-air wing to take this dune buggy like vehicle to the skies. A single person can convert this vehicle into flying mode in a few minutes and it is capable to take off in merely 300 feet space and 40mph speed. On the ground, Maveric is powered by Subaru engine that produces 140-hp. It enables the vehicle to get a sprint from standstill to 60mph in just 3.9 seconds. As per I-TEC, Maverick will be available sometime in next year; however, there is no word on its pricing.

U.K. Woman with Four Transplanted Organs Gets Her M.D.
The first woman in the United Kingdom to have all her major organs transplanted has now signed on to a lifetime of hospital visits -- but this time as the doctor. Allison John, 32, made medical history in 2006 after she received her fourth organ transplant -- a kidney from her father, 61-year-old David John, to add to her previous heart, lung and liver transplants. A life plagued by illness and frequent hospital visits has not deterred John from her dream of becoming a doctor, however. After 14 years of interrupted study, she finally received her medical degree from Cardiff University last month, according to the U.K. press. John will begin rounds as a junior doctor at Neville Hall Hospital in Abergavenny, England.
