Awesome X-Ray Art

When it comes down to it, x-rays are just very technologically advanced photographs. If you look at an x-ray without bias, you’ll see that it really is just another picture, that happens to show different colors than we’re used to. So doesn’t it make sense to use them as art? Doesn’t it just seem right to allow these photographs the same artistic license that the normal color variety get? We think so, and so do the people who made these. Lamborghini showcases Murcielago LP670-4 SV China Limited Edition

In order to solidify its commitment to build the brand and to continue to grow its presence in China, Lamborghini introduced Murcielago LP670-4 SuperVeloce China Limited Edition. The special edition of the flagship Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce exclusively for the Chinese market has 6.5-liter V-12 producing 670hp. The all wheel drive, however, is simply a cosmetic upgrade of the flagship model. It’ll be a limited edition as the brand to produce no more than 350 cars. On the other, the weight of Murciélago LP670-4 SuperVeloce China edition has been reduced approximately 100 kg and the car boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 2.3 kg (5.1 lbs) per hp. The car races from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds with its top speed at 342km/h.

6,635 Customers Have Signed Up To Reserve A Nissan Leaf

How many people plunked down $99 to register for a Nissan Leaf? According to an email from Nissan, "As of this morning, 6,635 customers signed up to reserve a Nissan Leaf." The reservation line has only been open about 70 hours (Nissan began taking reservations late Tuesday), so that's a pretty solid rate of ~100 an hour. Katherine Zachary, who handles PR for Nissan North America, told Autoblog that during the first three hours, 2,700 people registered for the Leaf, and that it's been a steady flow ever since. However, if you were one of the people with an itchy trigger finger Tuesday, don't count on getting your Leaf first. Nissan is looking at where the most demand to help determine where to roll out the vehicles.

Marion Hyper-Submersible Powerboat Nearing Production

Next up in the world of James Bond-worthy submersibles: the Hyper-Sub from US-based Marion HSPD (Hyper-Submersible Powerboat Design), which is finally gearing up for production after years of development. As the name implies, it’s a powerboat-submarine hybrid that aims to be the best of both worlds. In a nutshell, it’s the first small craft built with the horsepower, sea-keeping, and range to allow operation on the high seas, which also functions as a self-charging, autonomous, one-atmosphere submarine. On the powerboat end, it’s basically a heavy-duty, 31-ft. surface-cruiser with a closed cabin. Powered by twin 440 hp inboard diesels for a total output of 880 hp, the Hyper-Sub has a maximum surface speed of 40 knots and a maximum surface range of 500 miles.
