Raising the Roof: Ford's Skyliner 'Retrac'
As enjoyable as convertibles can be on beautiful, sunny summer days, they can be a terrible burden any other time -- drafty, noisy, and vulnerable. We suspect that anyone who's ever owned one has at least occasionally wished they could magically transform it into a regular coupe on days when the sun is too hot or the wind too cold. Fifty years ago, the Ford Motor Company offered a car that could do exactly that, creating a piece of mechanical showmanship that has only recently been surpassed: the Skyliner retractable hardtop.

Michigan's Abandoned Dinosaur Amusement Park Is Way Creepy
Abandoned amusement parks are eerie. But an abandoned park filled with fiberglass dinosaurs? Eerie as shit. In Irish Hills, Michigan, you can find one such saurian-filled ghost-town: The Prehistoric Forest. It's like Jurassic Park, but the T-Rex eats your soul. The Prehistoric Forest reportedly opened in 1963 and closed in 1999. At one point, this eight-acre property had a waterfall, a smoking volcano, and a waterslide. Now it just has dilapidated dinosaurs by sculptor James Q. Sidwell, fences and motion sensors (to keep out vandals), and the ghostly laughter of unborn dinosaur babies lurking around every corner. This is definitely one of those places that's more unsettling in the daytime. From the somewhat outdated information I've seen around the web, I'm guessing The Prehistoric Forest is still for sale. If I were an eccentric billionaire, I'd purchase the place, buy even more decaying dinosaurs, and just let nature run its course. Then I'd rent it to the producers of Syfy's Saturday night creature features and make a killing.

One Lap of America – Part 3: The Road Back Home
We’ve got less than a week to go before the start of the One Lap of America and to say I’m scrambling to get ready would be an understatement. The Charger is ready (for the most part) to take on another 4000 mile run and do battle with some of the meanest and fastest cars in the country. We’ll not only be hitting 9 different race tracks, but we’ll be driving some 15-18 hrs. per day. This is one hell of a haul ladies and gentleman and because of this we’re not going to waste the opportunity. We’ve teamed up with the VA Palo Alto Health Care System to help our wounded Veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. My co-driver for this event will be international automotive importer Chris Smith. Both cars have been completely vinyl wrapped to reflect the spirit of what we are trying to accomplish and to help us raise awareness for our Veterans.

Iron Mountain’s Energy Efficient Bunker
Underground “nuke proof” data bunkers have been used in commercial storage for decades. In recent years, subterranean bunkers have emerged as a growing niche in the data center ecosystem. Perhaps no company reflects that transition as well as Iron Mountain, a traditional leader in document storage that is now building a digital storage empire. The flagship facility in the company’s push into the data center sector is a huge underground facility in western Pennsylvania. Iron Mountain bought the former limestone mine, which houses 1.7 million square feet of space, from the National Underground in 1998. It has developed a section of the mine into an energy-efficient data center known as Room 48. Located more than 200 feet underground, Room 48 takes advantage of its subterranean environment. The mine’s temperature remains steady at 55 degrees and the imestone walls to absorb heat eliminate the need for typical data center cooling systems that consume large amounts of power.
