Blake Lively Sexy Beach Photos May Cause Ocean Spray

I've never seen Gossip Girl, my own shameful respectable admission. But I understand it's a show about a bunch of high school girls who like to spread hurtful rumors. Well, I'm here to spread a pleasant rumor -- Blake Lively is amazingly hot in her beach photoshoot for Vogue. In fact, she's just amazingly hot all the time. Sure, we'd like even more cleavage and boobs from Blake, but, for a fashion rag, these sexy pictures are hereby approved for man-viewing.

Portraits of America's Endangered Species by Joel Sartore

The first thought that ran across my mind when I read Joel Sartore’s book Rare: Portraits of America’s Endangered Species was that it’s a gorgeous book. Joel, a National Geographic photographer, has been on a 20-year personal mission to photograph examples of the world’s most endangered species, so you’d kinda expect that out of him. There are currently about 1,500 known species in the world that are endangered – Joel presents 68 of them in his book, ranging from wolves to wolverines, pitcher plant to pineapple cactus; all exquisitely photographed. As an amateur point-and-shoot photographer (erhm, that’s being generous – I mostly take blurry photos of my kids), I can only imagine how long it took him to get that Eastern Hellbender photo!

Doutzen Kroes’ Hot Russian Swimsuit Pictures

It’s finally Friday and I’ve had another rough week of writing about celebrities and their lovely boobs, so I thought I would finish things off with a few tasty shots of supermodel Doutzen Kroes hanging out in her bikini for Vogue Russia. You’re welcome. Obviously the girl is hot, she’s a supermodel after all, but the fact that it’s in Russian somehow makes it even hotter. I don’t really know why, I guess the whole thing reminds me of my first wife, we met on the internet and she was shipped to me from Russia. I’m getting choked up. Enjoy.

Beautiful Sunset Photography

There is nothing better than to enjoy a sunset on a nice place, relax and watch live the beauty of nature. It's even better when you have a camera to snap some shots of this great moment, and this is what we have here, a collection of the most beautiful sunset photography from all over the globe.

PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES TECHNOLOGY & OTHER NEAT STUFF

1967 Porsche 910 Spyder Coupe, For Sale. Only $995,000

This was sequentially the third of the five "Werks Team" 910-8 Spyders completed for the Porsche Factory in the early Spring of 1967. As was the usual practice, after the race, 910-032 was returned to the Porsche Factory and completely rebuilt and prepared for the next race. This was the July running of the Cesana Sestriere, Italian Hill Climb Championship Race. Driving duties were assigned this time to Rolf Stommelen and as had occurred in Mount Ventoux, chassis 910-032 easily scored a first overall with fastest time of the day. Once again this Porsche was returned to the Factory Race Department for a complete rebuild prior to the next race which occurred just two weeks later. This Porsche’s third race was the Freiburg Schauinsland Hill Climb. Several of the Factory Team Driver’s practiced with the car but in the actual final timed run, the car suffered unknown engine damaged and was formally classified as a DNF.

Space Shuttle: The Time-Lapse Movie

Last year while training for his STS-131 space shuttle mission, astronaut Alan Poindexter was looking for a different way to document Discovery's next-to-last flight, something that had never been done. So he turned to a couple of friends—Scott Andrews, a photographer and technical advisor to Canon who has shot every shuttle launch but two, and Stan Jirman, a software engineer for Apple. They came up with a winning suggestion: What about a time-lapse video that captured the whole process of getting a shuttle ready for launch? The result, produced in collaboration with Andrews’ son Philip (a photojournalist himself), is a stunning, one-of-a-kind, four-minute chronicle of Discovery’s trip from the Orbiter Processing Facility to the pad, beginning with the "rollover" to the Vehicle Assembly Building on February 22 and ending with the STS-131 launch on April 5.

Ducati 916: The Superbike, Evolved

Ducati's legendary 916 all but set the blueprint for the modern superbike, changing the way the motorcycle industry approached both styling and technical sophistication. Kilometer Magazine assembled this history of one of Italy's most fascinating machines. If you asked anyone in 1994 - motorcyclist or otherwise - if the number 916 held any significance, they'd have probably shrugged. At the time, it didn't mean anything to anyone outside of the Sacramento area code. But later that year, Ducati announced its new superbike. Since that point, the number 916 has been synonymous with two-wheeled Italian perfection. Following its first six seasons of World Superbike competition, the tiny Bolognese manufacturer needed a new track machine that could fully realize the company's potential. The 851 and 888 were successful in the series, but each bike's shape — though decidedly Italian — was hard to distinguish from that of its Japanese contemporaries.

Sikorsky X2 Helicopter Progressing Toward Record Speed

Next week Sikorsky plans to finish the third phase of flight testing for its new X2 helicopter with a flight of 180 knots (207 miles per hour). The X2 team has been slowly expanding the performance envelope of the technology demonstrator and says they expect to reach their goal speed of 250 knots (288 miles per hour) some time in the late summer or early fall. The X2 uses a coaxial main rotor system, eliminating the need for the tail rotor that typically counters the torque of a single main rotor. In place of a tail rotor, the X2 has a propeller at the back of the aircraft that generates thrust similar in a similar manner as a fixed-wing aircraft. On the most recent flight, the X2 reached a speed of 168 knots. Recent aerodynamic improvements have reduced drag, helping in the quest for higher speeds. Jim Kagdis manages the advanced programs at Sikorsky. He says there is still more speed available from both aerodynamic clean ups as well increasing the thrust from the pusher prop on the tail.
